French vanilla Bushwacker is a frozen coffee coconut cocktail with a hint of vanilla. It’s the perfect way to cool down and enjoy Sōmrus’ new coffee cream liqueur this summer.

Have you ever heard of a Bushwacker cocktail?
I hadn’t ever heard of it before approached to make this here recipe to be honest.
A traditional Bushwacker cocktail is a frozen alcoholic drink made with Kahlua, rum, creme de cacao, and cream of coconut. It was invented in 1975 in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and has since become very popular especially in Florida and beach resorts.
It is basically a cross between a piña colada and a milkshake.
I have previously collaborated with Sōmrus before to make one of my most popular cocktails, the mango sunrise cocktail.
Now they have a new flavor of cream liqueur, coffee.

Summer is in full swing and it is time for something cold and caffeinated.
I had one of these cold cocktails while watching the boys playing outside and sweating my butt off.
French vanilla Bushwacker is a twist on the classic that uses French vanilla creamer, honey, dark rum, unsweetened canned coconut cream, and Sōmrus Coffee Cream Liqueur.
Add ice and blend until it becomes the consistency of a Frappuccino.
This recipe makes two cocktails.
I like to top it with some whipped cream, a cherry, and chocolate shavings.
I shared these drinks with my brother and Mike.
They loved the cool, coffee flavor with that hint of boozy rummmy coconut at the end.
We no longer felt like we were stuck in the burbs babysitting.
This drink will transport you to the islands or at least Florida.
