Spiked caramel macchiato is a delicious twist on a cold and sweet, shaken coffee made with Sōmrus Coffee Cream Liqueur. The perfect way to celebrate national coffee day!

I never thought I would be the kind of person that is an avid coffee drinker.

Alas, I have small children sooooo…

Here we are.

A coffee a day keeps the scary mommy away.

This is a recipe for a spiked coffee drink. 

I am not saying to drink this with your kids around, maybe for a fun weekend brunch.

Or after they get on the bus for the day.

I cannot drink a whole pot of coffee myself. I haven’t gone that far into my addiction.

This recipe uses some left over cold coffee or espresso.

Spiked Shaken Caramel Macchiato Ingredients | Sarcastic Cooking

Here is what you need:

  • Ice
  • Somrus Coffee Cream Liqueur
  • Coffee Creamer or Milk of Choice
  • Cold Coffee or Espresso
  • Caramel Sauce

I will leave it up to you if you want whip or no whip on your spiked caramel macchiato.

Lately, at Starbucks, the big thing is shaken coffee.

Shaken Sōmrus Macchiato | Sarcastic Cooking

I find this is a great way to get a frothy, macchiato-like drink without a milk frother.

Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and give it a vigorous shake.

Pour over more ice and then top with more caramel and whip if you are feeling a super sweet tooth coming on.

Look for Sōmrus Coffee Cream Liqueur at your local Binny’s or use the helpful “Where to Buy” tool on their site.

Spiked Caramel Macchiato

Spiked Caramel Macchiato

Yield: 1 Cocktail
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Shaken, spiked caramel macchiato made with Sōmrus Coffee Cream Liqueur, cold coffee/espresso, creamer, and caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1.5oz Somrus Coffee Cream Liqueur
  • 1 1/2 cups cold coffee/espresso
  • 1 oz coffee creamer or milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp caramel syrup

Instructions

    1. Add contents to a cocktail shaker. Shake until froth and blended, about a minute.
    2. Add some extra caramel sauce to the inside of a 12-16oz glass.
    3. Pour shaken cocktail into glass.
    4. Top with whipped cream and more caramel sauce.
