Total Time 12 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Yellow Onion
  • 3/4 Cup Apple Cider
  • 2 Tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1, 3 lb Bone In Pork Shoulder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Add apple cider, molasses, and vinegar to the slow cooker. Mix to combine and then add in the sliced onion.
  2. Mix the dry seasonings together in a small bowl. Use a liberal amount of salt and pepper too. But keep in mind, you can always add more so don't go crazy.
  3. Sprinkle the dry seasoning mix all over the pork. Rub into the meat.
  4. Add the pork to the slow cooker, cover with lid, and cook on low for 12 hours.
  5. After 12 hours, remove bone and any excess fat. Use two forks to shred the pork. Keep the slow cooker on warm while you serve it to keep it nice and hot.
  6. Serve on buns with brussels sprout slaw and a slice of havarti cheese plus another drizzle of your fave BBQ sauce.
